„Wedding does not have a script, it doesn’t even have a printed
instructions for its staging and performance. The whole piece is a
typical wedding commonplace collection filled with rhymes, listening to
which the audience gets the impression they are listening to fragments
of a conversation, while the connecting links remain concealed.

közhelyek és rigmus-idézetek gyűjteménye, amelyeket hallgatva a
közönségben olyan érzés alakul ki, mint amikor egy beszélgetés
foszlányait halljuk, az összekapcsoló fonal azonban mégis rejtve marad.”

„It was not my intention to reproduce the traditional ceremony of a
peasant wedding and I did not care much about ethnographic aspects
either. I wanted to create of a scenic ceremony, freely using the
ritual elements abounding in folk customs that have evolved during
Russian wedding celebrations throughout the centuries.
I drew inspiration from the traditional elements, but I reserved the right to use them as I pleased.”
