Joseph Tmim was born and trained in Israel. From 1980 till 1985 he was soloist and choreographer at the Israeli Batsheva Dance Company. In 1985 he joined the Bremer, later the Bochumer Tanztheater as soloist. Since 1987 Joseph Tmim has been working as choreographer and dance teacher based in Berlin. His works have awarded international prices and have been performed on almost all continents. Between 1988 and 1993 Joseph Tmim was co-director of Dance Berlin, until he founded " toladá dance company" of which he is the artistic director. Joseph Tmim is a professor of modern dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Thater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig, Germany. During the last years he has lead several workshops at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie and in Amsterdam.
